Flyer for Navan in November
Moscow Flyer is due to begin his build-up to the Pertemps King George VI Chase with an outing at Navan in November.
Jessica Harrington’s stable star, who will be attempting three miles for the first time at Kempton Park on Boxing Day, has won all his completed starts over fences.
But he unseated Barry Geraghty when bidding to repeat his victory of last year in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
“He will start off in the race he won last year at Navan (Fortria Chase on November 7). I spoke to Jessie a while ago and that is the plan, then the Tingle Creek and then on to the King George, all being well,” Geraghty told At The Races.
Moscow Flyer went some way to making amends for his Cheltenham mishap with victories at Aintree and Punchestown.
Reflecting on the Festival blunder, Geraghty said: “He was in one piece and I was in one piece and that was the main thing.
“After Cheltenham he put things right at Punchestown and at Aintree. He’s unbeaten over fences when he has completed, but he pulls out a few surprises now and again.”
