Sanghasta disqualified after failed test

Sanghasta was today disqualified from first place in the Boyle INH Flat Race at Roscommon on June 14 after failing a routine test.

The six-year-old’s trainer Caroline Hutchinson was also fined €130 by the appeals and referrals committee of the Irish Turf Club.

A sample taken from Sanghasta was found to contain the prohibited substances phenylbutazone and oxyphenbutazone.

The race has been awarded to Doninga House, with Lisbonney Project second and Dead Mans Dante third.

At a separate inquiry, trainer Ger Lynch was fined €500 and High Diving disqualified from the Elphin Maiden Hurdle at the same Roscommon meeting.

A sample from High Diving after he had been pulled up in the two-mile contest was found to contain furosemide, a prohibited substance.
