Dermot Weld’s globetrotting star Vinnie Roe is to contest the Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown on Sunday, a race he has won for the past two years.

A winner of the last three Irish St Legers, Vinnie Roe has made only one appearance this season, when finishing second to Windermere at the course in May.

The 12-furlong contest has attracted a competitive field of seven, with the only British runner the Sir Mark-Prescott trained Foreign Affairs, who has been running exclusively in France and Germany in the last year.

Aidan O’Brien’s Queen’s Vase runner-up Two Miles West looks to be a leading contender, as does Mkuzi from the John Oxx yard.

Lord Admiral, Valentina Guest and Faasel complete the field.
