Gamut gets go-ahead
Gamut has been given the green light to run in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes this afternoon.
There had been doubts about his participation because of the quick ground at Ascot, but trainer Sir Michael Stoute made the decision to run after the second race.
Stoute was delayed getting to the track, and had a lengthy conversation with his jockey Kieren Fallon on arrival.
Afterwards, he said: “I’ve only just got to the racecourse – it took me two and three-quarter hours to get here.
“Kieren thinks it will be safe for him, so he is going to run.”
