Gosden Silver appeal successful

John Gosden has won his appeal to the Jockey Club’s disciplinary panel against a decision by the Sandown stewards not to promote Silver Gilt to first place in the Addleshaw Goddard Stakes.

Gosden’s charge, ridden by Frankie Dettori, was beaten a short head by the David Elsworth-trained Romany Prince in the Listed contest over an extended two miles and the stewards held a 20-minute inquiry into possible interference.
