Papineau out of Diamond feature
Gold Cup winner Papineau will not take his chance in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes on Saturday.
The four-year-old bruised a foot recently and Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford has ruled out a crack at a famous Ascot double.
“There are no plans for Papineau at present, but he definitely does not run in the King George,” he told the Racing Post.
Papineau, who beat Westerner by one and a half lengths at the Royal meeting, is unbeaten in three starts for Sheikh Mohammed’s operation since leaving the care of Andre Fabre.
