Exceed and Excel career ended

Australian raider Exceed and Excel has been retired to stud following his disappointing performance in last week’s Darley July Cup at Newmarket.

The four-year-old was a high-profile purchase by Sheikh Mohammed earlier this year but beat just one horse home on his sole British start, despite being sent off the 4-1 market leader.
