Whazzat proved too strong for the colts as she ran out an easy winner of the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot today.

The Barry Hills-trained filly (7-1), winner of her only previous start and racing in the famous colours of Bill Gredley, scooted clear in the final furlong to give the Lambourn trainer his first winner of the meeting.

Kieren Fallon and Brecon Beacon looked a threat with a furlong and a half to run, but Michael Hills’ mount had far too much toe and was a comfortable three-and-a-half-length winner.

Wilko was a further head away in third.
