Blue Canari wins French Derby

Blue Canari landed the Prix du Jockey-Club (French Derby) at Chantilly this afternoon.

The result was only decided in a photograph and the winner only got up in the dying strides to deny Prospect Park, with Valixir back in third.

John Gosden’s impressive York winner Day Flight was always handy and took up the running entering the home straight, but could not hold off the late challengers.
