O'Brien: No problem with Yeats

Trainer Aidan O’Brien has scotched rumours that all is not well with Vodafone Derby favourite Yeats.

The unbeaten colt touched 13.5-1 on the betting exchanges on Saturday evening, although punter confidence had returned by yesterday.

O’Brien said: “I’ve heard about it, but he’s fine. There’s no problems.”

The son of Sadler’s Wells won his only start as a juvenile, and has done little wrong in winning the Ballysax Stakes and Derrinstown Derby Trial this season.

O’Brien’s previous Derby winners, Galileo (2001) and High Chaparral (2002), both won the Ballysax and Derrinstown on their way to Classic glory at Epsom.

Coral cut Yeats to 11-4 favourite (from 3-1) after American Post made heavy weather of winning the French 2000 Guineas.
