Ian Williams’ Batman Senora returns to the scene of his finest hour on Sunday when he turns out at Auteuil for the 60,000 Prix Jean Granel.

The eight-year-old capitalised on the fall of 2002 French Gold Cup winner Kotkijet to land the Prix La Haye Jousselin, France’s answer to the King George, last November.

Cyrille Gombeau was on board that day and takes the ride again on the French-bred, whose only start since the Jousselin came over Christmas where he fell at the last when tailed off behind Best Mate in the Ericsson at Leopardstown.

A noted front runner, Batman Senora’s 11-strong opposition for this two-and-a-half mile chase is headed by Ladykish, last season’s leading four-year-old chaser who represents Francois Doumen, Williams’ former boss.
