UK race meeting switched to another track
Worcester have been forced to abandon their fixture on Saturday afternoon and the meeting will now be transferred to Southwell.
Officials were due to hold an inspection at 9am tomorrow but, after meeting with course inspector Peter Hobbs this morning, decided to make the decision earlier than planned.
Clerk of the course Jon Pullin said: “The track is unraceable at the moment and we have had 90 millimetres of rain in the last 10 days.
“There is one specific area of waterlogging and the track would need two or three dry days for us to be able to race.
“The forecast is for more showers, some of which could be heavy, so we have taken the decision to transfer the fixture.”
The starts of the races will be adjusted to the nearest appropriate distance with all original entries for Worcester standing and race times remaining unaltered.
Revised starts and elimination sequences will be issued on Thursday and declarations will close as normal at 10am on Friday.
