Elsworth: Punch will improve for Sagaro run
Trainer David Elsworth believes that his popular stayer Persian Punch will improve for his first run of the season in the Bovis Homes Sagaro Stakes at Ascot on Wednesday.
The 11-year-old gelding, who last year landed the Goodwood and Jockey Club Cups, has been allowed to reach fitness naturally by Elsworth, who said today: “He’s done his preparation, but I’m not one to gallop and gallop them if I think they’re not quite ready.
