Post boosts Derby prospects
British bookmakers Coral have cut American Post’s odds for the Vodafone Derby to 8-1 from 10-1 after he made a winning start to his Classic season at Saint-Cloud today.
The Criquette Head-Maarek-trained colt landed the Listed Prix Omnium II by four lengths from Joursanvault in the hands of Richard Hughes.
American Post, who carries the colours of Khalid Abdullah, recorded stylish wins in the Grand Criterium and Doncaster’s Racing Post Trophy to earn his prominent position in the Derby betting.
William Hill and Ladbrokes both go 10-1 American Post for the Derby.
