Jockey Ahern open to more rides
Eddie Ahern is expected to ride for more trainers this coming turf season after two years as stable jockey to Gerard Butler.
The Irish-born jockey chalked up 108 winners last season after 84 the previous year.
“Eddie has done very well since come over from Ireland, but he has expressed a wish to ride for other trainers and we wish him well,” said Butler.
“Our own policy will be to use the best available and there will certainly be times when that man will be Eddie.”
The Blewbury trainer added that the stable’s two runners on Dubai World Cup night, Jack Sullivan and Nayyir, will be partnered by Michael Kinane.
