Holland set for Dubai dash
Darryll Holland will dash from Wolverhampton to Dubai on Friday after being snapped up by Clive Brittain to partner Dutch Gold and Membership at Nad Al Sheba.
Dutch Gold, runner-up to Scott’s View on March 21, tackles Saturday’s Group Three Dubai City of Gold, while last year’s Jersey Stakes hero Membership is in line for the Group Three Jebel Hatta over an extended mile.
It will be the first time Holland has ridden in this year’s Dubai Racing Carnival.
Matt Chapman, Holland’s agent, said this morning: “Clive and I had a chat on Monday night and with no all-weather racing in Britain this weekend, it fitted in perfectly with Darryll to jet off to Dubai. He’s thrilled to have been asked.
“Dutch Gold ran a fine race last time when he could never get to the front to set the pace which he likes to do, while Clive reckons Membership will improve for his last run.”
Holland will be back on Sunday so he can take in Monday’s meeting at either Lingfield or Wolverhampton.
