Hombre aimed at World cup
Godolphin are aiming ex-American-trained runner Grand Hombre at the Dubai World Cup on March 27.
The four-year-old Grand Slam gelding was bought in a private deal by Godolphin after winning the Grade Three Pennsylvania Derby at Philadelphia last September.
He is now being aimed at the Group One event over 10 furlongs, which is the highlight of a bumper day’s racing.
Refuse To Bend, winner of the 2000 Guineas last year, is also on course for the meeting with his provisional target being the Dubai Duty Free.
The four-year-old was trained by Dermot Weld last season before being bought by Godolphin.
He has not run since finishing unplaced in the Breeders’ Cup Mile but is set to contest the eight-furlong event at Nad Al Sheba.
Godolphin also intend to run Inamorato, who was second to Victory Moon in round two of the Maktoum Challenge last week.
The four-year-old is earmarked for the Group Two Godolphin Mile on the dirt on Dubai World Cup day.
