Mick possible for Dubai bid

Dewhurst Stakes winner Milk It Mick could be a surprise contender for the UAE Derby at the Dubai World Cup meeting in March.

The Jamie Osborne-trained colt won five of his 12 starts last season, including the Group One event at Newmarket.

Milk It Mick, a son of Millkom, is a 16-1 chance for the 2000 Guineas with William Hill but owner Paul Dixon admitted a trip to Dubai could be in the offing.

“Dubai is a possibility but his main target is probably the Guineas,” he told the Racing Post.

“I think the two races may come too close together to go for both, but he is a tough horse who would go on the surface, and you’ve got to be in it if you want to win it.

“I’d prefer to go for the Guineas, with maybe a run in the Greenham before. I saw Pat Eddery the other day, who told me we have a good chance in the Guineas, but we’ll go where Jamie thinks he has the best chance of winning.”

Richard Hannon’s Fantastic View has also been entered for the Grade Two race in Dubai.
