Fondmart wins Paddy Power Gold Cup

Fondmort (3-1), trained by Nicky Henderson and ridden by Mick Fitzgerald, won the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham today.

Fitzgerald was always cantering aboard the 3/1 favourite who closed on leader Poliantas (7/2) turning for home.

Soon clear, Fondmart again flew the last and strode up the hill to win by eight lengths from Poliantas.

Ei Ei (33/1), who cut out the early running, was a further 15 lengths away in third.
