Wayward Lad is put down

Wayward Lad, arguably the best chaser never to have won the Cheltenham Gold Cup, has been put down at the age of 28.

The triple King George VI Chase winner, trained throughout a long and glittering career by the Dickinson family, was humanely euthanized in Pennsylvania last weekend.
