Falbrav to have Breeders' Cup options
Falbrav will be entered for both the Breeders’ Cup Turf and the Breeders’ Cup Classic at tomorrow’s supplementary stage, ahead of Saturday week’s meeting at Santa Anita.
The Breeders’ Cup has long been on trainer Luca Cumani’s mind, but a tilt at the 4million 10-furlong Classic has only recently entered the equation.
“He will be entered for both races tomorrow,” Cumani said. “We haven’t made a decision yet, and there won’t be one until it is necessary to make one.”
Final declarations are not due until Thursday week.
Cumani did confirm though, that Falbrav’s regular partner, Darryll Holland, will be on board in preference to an American-based rider.
Despite the fact that Cumani has yet to announce which race will be Falbrav’s target, punters have been backing the son of Fairy King for the Classic.
Coral reported significant ante-post money for the colt today and cut him to 6-1 from 8-1, while Hills go even shorter, quoting him at 4-1 with a run.
Falbrav has been eased for the 2million Turf, with Coral now going 5-2 from 7-4.
