Soliniki to bypass weekend engagements
Impressive maiden winner Soliniki will not be in action this weekend, trainer Jamie Osborne said today.
The two-year-old holds entries in Ascot’s Willmott Dixon Cornwallis Stakes, and the Newton Fund Managers Rockingham Stakes at York, but will not line up at the weekend.
“He won’t run in either race,” Osborne explained.
“He’s not ready yet so I’m afraid he’s going to give both Ascot and York a miss.”
However, the Ascot winner could be seen out before the end of the season.
“He will probably race again this year, but he’s just not ready at the moment,” the Lambourn handler added.
Osborne’s first Group winner, Milk It Mick, is likely to race again this term following his win in the Somerville Tattersall Stakes at Newmarket.
The juvenile has been a tough and consistent performer all season, with Osborne considering a step up to Group One level on Saturday week for the colt, saying: “He will probably go for the Dewhurst.”
