Destination on right course for Ascot
Godolphin are expecting Dubai Destination to run a big race in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot tomorrow.
The four-year-old will be aiming to bounce back from a slightly disappointing showing in the Prix Jacques Le Marois where he finished fifth behind Six Perfections.
Although that was below par on the face of it, the Kingmambo colt was only four lengths adrift of the winner.
Dubai Destination was a top class two-year-old, beating Rock Of Gibraltar in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster, before suffering an injury early in his three-year-old career.
He came back from that with a win at Nottingham before running out an easy winner of the Group One Queen Anne Stakes at the Royal meeting.
Dubai Destination runs over the course and trip again and trainer Saeed bin Suroor believes he will run a big race.
He told the official website: “Dubai Destination worked on Tuesday over five furlongs and I was very pleased with him as he worked really well.
“He’s ready to run again after the French race and doing very good. Dubai Destination has the class and the speed to run a big race on Saturday.”
Godolphin also send out Blatant for the race and bin Suroor added: “Blatant runs to help make sure there is plenty of pace for Dubai Destination.”
