Ridge ready for Ascot
Marcus Tregoning’s highly-promising juvenile Snow Ridge has been given the go-ahead to tackle the Hackney Empire Royal Lodge Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.
The Indian Ridge colt has won his only start to date in good style, beating Iqte Saab in good style by three and a half lengths in a seven-furlong conditions race at Kempton Park earlier this month.
With the victory Snow Ridge, who steps up to Group Two company at the weekend, earned quotes of 25-1 for the 2000 Guineas and 33-1 for the Vodafone Derby.
“He is in very good form and he will go to Ascot,” Tregoning told the Racing Post. “It is a big hike in class but we were very pleased with him at Kempton. The step up to a mile should be perfect for him.
“The Racing Post Trophy could be his long-term aim but we will take it one step at a time with him.”
