Puzzle favourite for Melbourne repeat

Dermot Weld’s Media Puzzle is the 12-1 favourite to repeat his success of last year in the Tooheys New Melbourne Cup at Flemington in Australia following the publication of the weights.

The gelding, one of Weld’s five possible runners, took the two-mile race last season and he could defend his title on November 4 despite having to carry 9lb more this time having been given 8st 13lb.
