Whipper snaps up the big race at Deauville
British and Irish raiders failed to cut much ice in the feature contest at Deauville this afternoon as Whipper sprung a real surprise in the Prix Morny Casinos Barriere.
Robert Collet’s filly came with a strong run in the closing stages to collar hot favourite Much Faster.
The runner-up’s stablemate Denebola was third.
Old Deuteronomy fared best of Aidan O'Brien's three runners but could only manage a well-beaten fourth after racing prominently against the stands rail as stablemate Haydn made the running in the middle of the track.
