Katie set to carry on at York

Jeremy Noseda’s 12-length maiden-race winner Carry On Katie is among 10 confirmed entries for the Peugeot Lowther Stakes at York on Thursday.

Carry On Katie, a daughter of Fasliyev, was chased home by Three Secrets on her debut at Ascot and George Margarson’s juvenile could reoppose on the Knavesmire.

Noseda described his filly as “in great shape” on his website ahead of the Group Two contest.

Clive Brittain could run his once-raced Badminton, a winner at Doncaster, while Mick Channon has Silca’s Gift and Tolzey in the race.

Brittain is harbouring high hopes for his filly on Thursday.

“She worked extremely well on Friday morning and I’m very pleased with her,” he said. “She is on course for the Lowther.

“All the fillies we have run so far have run well, but she is lengths ahead of them. We would be very hopeful.”

Channon’s duo were separated by three lengths when they finished first and second in the Listed Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot in June.

Mark Johnston, whose two-year-olds are carrying all before them, could be represented by Venetian Pride, who was third to Blue Tomato in a Goodwood nursery last time out.

Other confirmed entries are Chance For Romance, Chicago Bond, Dunloskin and Valjarv.
