Injury ends Hawk Wing's career
Enigmatic superstar Hawk Wing has been retired from racing after failing to recover from a knee ligament injury.
The announcement was made by the team at Coolmore Stud today after scans on the four-year-old following his defeat in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot, where he suffered the injury.
It brings to an end a remarkable career highlighted by a breathtaking 11-length victory in the Group One Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes at Newbury in May.
Hawk Wing will now join the stallion team at Coolmore for a fee which has yet to be decided.
