Curragh set for good ground
Good ground is still expected ahead of racing at the Curragh this Sunday, when stars such as High Chaparral and Three Valleys are set to be in action.
“The ground is good at the moment, it’s perfect racing ground with a good covering of grass and no jar,” said racecourse manager Paul Hensey this afternoon.
“We might put some water onto the track tomorrow, just as a precaution, because there are three bright days forecast for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and we want the ground to be right on the day,” he added.
While much of Britain sweltering under a heat-wave, causing ground to dry out, Ireland is not suffering quite the same with Hensey commenting: “We have hot weather but it’s not what you have in England.
“We’ll certainly have good ground though for the weekend.”
