Fallon on Hanami
Kieren Fallon will get the leg up on Hanami in the Darley Irish Oaks at the Curragh on Sunday.
James Toller has secured the services of the champion jockey for his Pretty Polly Stakes winner, as she bids to prove she is as effective at a mile and a half as she is at 10 furlongs.
After a finishing to great effect in the Sagitta 1000 Guineas, the Hernando filly was then a slightly disappointing sixth in the Vodafone Oaks.
“We still don’t know for sure if she will get the trip but the more I think about it, the more I think she should,” the Newmarket trainer told the Racing Post.
“I feel she didn’t handle the track at Epsom. I don’t think you could say that she ran like a non-stayer.
“Christophe Soumillon rode her in the Pretty Polly but he won’t be available next Sunday so we are going to get best, namely Kieren.”
