Eyecatcher of the day
There were more than one or two hard-luck stories during the Bibury Cup at Salisbury but the horse to take out of the race might just be the winner, Midas Way.
Unlikely to go up too much in the weights for this last-gasp win, he appeals as an improving sort and has the looks to go with his talent.
Trainer Roger Charlton reports that Midas Way is not the most extravagant worker in the world, but that he is a straightforward galloper who goes on any ground.
Perhaps best with some time between his races, Charlton can find another opportunity for his charge during the summer – maybe a valuable handicap at the Glorious Goodwood meeting.
