Turf Club to write to O'Brien

Officials at the Irish Turf Club are to write to Aidan O’Brien to give the champion trainer the opportunity to “explain and elaborate on” his alleged remarks regarding the running of Brian Boru in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial at Leopardstown on Sunday.

O’Brien explained the thinking behind the way his colt ran when third to Alamshar at a press open day at Ballydoyle on Monday.
