Eight set for Musidora test
A total of eight fillies will go to post tomorrow for the Group Three Tattersalls Musidora Stakes at York tomorrow.
The runners for the traditional Vodafone Oaks trial are headed by Barry Hills’ highly-rated Geminiani, who will be making her seasonal debut.
Sir Michael Stoute, who won the race last year with Islington, sends out Windsor maiden winner Mananiyya, while Godolphin run the once-raced Echoes In Eternity.
Jeremy Noseda steps Cassis up in trip to tackle the mile and a quarter race and Marcus Tregoning sends the promising Irtahal to the Knavesmire.
In-form trainer Clive Brittain will be biding for another big prize with Helderberg.
Hold To Ransom and Buy The Sport complete the field.
The going at the track remains good to firm ahead of tomorrow’s racing, but clerk of the course William Derby believes some showers may come later in the day.
“We had 3 millimetres of rain in the middle of the night and we applied 2 millimetres yesterday evening, so it’s right in the middle of good to firm,” he said.
“It’s blue skies and fine at the moment but the forecast is for a 40% chance of showers with 50 per cent tomorrow morning but then clearing through the week.”
