Saturn set to race at the Curragh
Sagitta 2000 Guineas fifth Saturn looks set to bid for compensation in the Irish equivalent at the Curragh later this month.
The Michael Bell-trained colt ran his best race to date in the Newmarket Classic and was only beaten two lengths behind Refuse To Bend having made most of the running.
The Marju colt is entered in the Tote Dante Stakes at York next week but his Newmarket trainer now has the Entenmannās-sponsored contest on May 24 in his sights.
āHe is very well. He looks in tremendous shape post-Newmarket and all the options are open ā the first of which is the Irish Guineas, that is very seriously on the agenda and that is the route we will probably go,ā Bell said.
āHe ran very well (at Newmarket), he was given a lovely ride and ran very well.ā
Saturn, who is also entered in the Vodafone Derby, has yet to run beyond a mile but his trainer is not ruling out a step up in trip in due course.
āA lot will obviously be decided after he has run next, thereās nothing set in stone that he wonāt run over further,ā he said.
