Flyer wins dramatic Champion Chase
Jumping won the day for Moscow Flyer in the Queen Mother Champion Chase as the well-backed 7/4 favourite clinched a dramatic success.
The complexion of the race changed when Latalomne and Seebald both failed to negotiate the second last fence, the former producing a virtual carbon copy fall of 12 months ago when still right in the firing line.
His jockey Vinnie Keane was left distraught on the floor as Moscow Flyer stormed clear up the hill to win easily by seven lengths.
The 2002 runner-up and third, Native Upmanship (12/1) and Cenkos (7/1) filled those places once again.
"I can't believe that it has happened again as he jumped so well," said Keane.
"He has jumped brilliantly today all the way round and his confidence was high.
"He seemed to jump the fence okay, but just buckled on landing."
Winning handler Jessica Harrington revealed: "It has been a long winter and the last hour has been the longest of all."
