Florida Pearl was reported to be in fine shape ahead of his bid to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham on Wednesday.

"Florida Pearl was out on the course yesterday morning and this morning and he's in great form," said Tracey Gilmore, travelling head lad to Irish trainer Willie Mullins.

Florida Pearl, who won four races last season including the Pertemps King George VI Chase at Kempton, has not had the best of times this term, failing in three attempts.

On his last start in the Irish Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Leopardstown in February, he was pulled up behind Irish Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup hopeful Beef Or Salmon.

He was later found to have a respiratory tract infection.
