Davy takes a day off

Davy Russell will miss his one booked ride at Newcastle this afternoon after hurting his ankle in a fall at Ayr on Sunday.

The rider was due to partner Blue Lizard for his boss Ferdy Murphy in the MyBetting.co.uk Maiden Hurdle but he is on the sidelines after taking a heavy tumble when his mount Spider Music jinked right and ran out at the third last in the Bowlands Way Novices’ Hurdle.
