Worcester have announced the signing of Wales forward Craig Quinnell, who joins the English Division One side until the end of the season.

Worcester's director of rugby John Brain said: "We are delighted that Craig has chosen Worcester. At 6'7" and around 20 stone he will provide both physical presence and a ball carrying option that we believe will enhance our push for promotion."

The 27-year-old had started the season with Premiership side Saracens after joining from Cardiff in April 2002 on a four-year contract, but his time at the Watford-based club was severely hampered by injury.

Quinnell started just three Premiership matches for Saracens this season but his departure from the club was effected on amicable terms, with the forward expected to sign for a Welsh club in order to challenge for a place in the Welsh squad.
