Leading Irish hurdler Davenport Milenium may make his seasonal debut at Kempton Park on Boxing Day.

Trainer Willie Mullins is considering the £75,000 (€117,350) Pertemps Christmas Hurdle for the six-year-old after taking the gelding out of Sunday’s Hatton’s Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse at the forfeit stage.

“I took Davenport Milenium out of the Fairyhouse race because of the amount of rain we have had,” the Co Carlow handler said.

“I felt that if I had kept him in I might have been tempted to run him. I am looking for alternatives in England and one of them is the big hurdle at Kempton which is on the same card as the King George VI Chase in which Florida Pearl is expected to take his chance.

“There are other possible engagements in December for Davenport Milenium but I haven’t made up my mind.”
