More Than A Stroll lands Down Royal feature

More Than A Stroll upstaged See More Business and Florida Pearl with a surprise victory in the James Nicholson Wine Merchant Champion Chase at Down Royal.

Arthur Moore's 10-year-old led at the final fence and the 20-1 shot kept on strongly under Conor O'Dwyer to beat the 2-1 favourite See More Business by five lengths.

Give Over was third with Florida Pearl only fourth.

More Than A Stroll was held up at the back of the seven-horse field in the early stages of this three-mile event as Foxchapel King and See More Business vied for the early lead.

Rockholm Boy fell at the seventh fence and caused the runners a few problems with Foxchapel King the first to drop out.

More Than A Stroll steadily closed on the leaders and was brought with a well-timed run to foil the See More Business from the Paul Nicholls stable.

"It was a great stroke of luck. We were very concerned that the race had not cut up and the ground had apparently gone against him. The one plus was that the horse appeared to be in the form of his life and Conor gave him a great ride," Moore told Channel 4 Racing.

"It was a pleasant surprise. I thought we were only running for third money. He had had a run were as the principals were having their seasonal debuts."
