Go ahead for Down Royal's big day

Today’s meeting at Down Royal, which features the James Nicholson Wine Merchant Champion Chase, will go ahead as planned.

After heavy rain on Friday the stewards inspected the track at 7.30 this morning and found the course fit for racing.

A spokeswoman for the Ulster venue said: "We are racing. The going on the chase track is soft and it is heavy on the hurdle track."

The big race marks the return to action of top chasers Florida Pearl and See More Business while last season’s leading novice Moscow Flyer reappears in the Killultagh Properties Ltd Chase.
