Jockey tests positive for banned substance

Jockey Dean Gallagher said today that he has tested positive for a banned substance.

Dean Gallagher’s riding career is under threat after the Champion Hurdle-winning jockey revealed today he has once again tested positive for a banned substance.

In a statement to PA Sport, he said: “I wish to announce that I have tested positive for a banned substance that may signal the end of my riding career.

“It is well known that I have put a great deal of effort into my ongoing recovery but life is not always as easy as it often appears.”
