Coolmore splash out at sales
The Coolmore partnership who struck at the double over the weekend at the highest level on the Flat with Landseer in America and Hold That Tiger at Longchamp played up their earnings at the first session of the Orby Sale at Goffs.
Demi O’Byrne paid €825,000 for a Sadler’s Wells colt on behalf of John Magnier and Michael Tabor submitted from Timmy Hyde’s Tipperary stud.
O’Byrne outbid local agent Brian Grassick for the early March bay colt by Coolmore’s pre-eminent stallion out of a Shirley Heights mare.
“He is a great sort and the Sadler’s Wells cross with a Shirley Heights mare has been a magic combination. Let’s hope it works again,” said O’Byrne.
