Khulood bounces back in Oh So Sharp Stakes
Khulood restored her reputation with a convincing victory in the Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket.
The 11-2 chance, trained by John Dunlop, had flopped when odds-on at Salisbury in August after making a winning debut at Ascot.
But the half-sister to 1994 Irish 1000 Guineas winner Mehthaaf looked good as Richard Hills sent 11-2 her to the front from the start and kicked on two furlongs to beat foil a gamble on Soldera by four lengths.
She had been backed down to 11-10 favourite following the absence of forecast market leader Irresistible.
"She is by Storm Cat and they can be temperamental. You have to suppress the temperament into their racing. Last time at Salisbury it all got to her. She boiled over in the paddock and got upset at the start.," said Hills
"They've done a lot of work on her at home and have got it right."
