Canadian International winner Ballingarry has been sold out of Aidan O’Brien’s yard to continue his racing career in America, it was revealed today.

The Sadler’s Wells colt has been purchased by a partnership consisting of Sidney Port, Marsha Naify, and the husband and wife team of Emmanuel and Laura De Seroux.

He will be trained by Laura De Seroux and will be aimed next at the Breeders’ Cup Turf.

De Seroux told the bloodhorse.com website: “Emmanuel has been watching this horse all year.

“He called me from Europe and told me to watch the tapes of him. He said, ’I really like this horse’.

“Coolmore will often sell their second tier horses, so he made them an offer. A few days before the Canadian International, we agreed on a price.

“After the race, we had him vetted and after he passed the vet’s test we took full control of the him.

“So, we won a big gamble there.”

Ballingarry has also been placed in three Classics this season – the Budweiser Irish Derby, Jefferson Smurfit Memorial Irish St Leger, and Derby Italiano.
