O'Brien reaches out to Ascot

Aidan O’Brien’s once-raced Reach For The Moon is among 10 youngsters declared at today’s 48-hour overnight stage for the Meon Valley Stud Fillies’ Mile at Ascot on Saturday.

Aidan O’Brien’s once-raced Reach For The Moon is among 10 youngsters declared at today’s 48-hour overnight stage for the Meon Valley Stud Fillies’ Mile at Ascot on Saturday.

The half-sister to Hong Kong Cup winner Agnes Digital won her only start at Cork in August but missed the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh because of coughing.

She is the Ballydoyle trainer’s sole representative in the 200,000 pound contest as he has taken out his two other five-day entries Miss Helga and Yesterday.

As expected Moyglare Stud winner Mail The Desert is not in the list with Mick Channon’s filly waiting for the Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp next month.

As well as Reach For The Moon, two other fillies will put their unbeaten records on the line.

Rainbow Queen, successful on her debut at Warwick last week, is one of two runners from the Sir Michael Stoute stable. The other is Huja. She was third to Geminiani in the Group Three Touchdown In Malaysia Prestige Stakes at Goodwood after scoring at Kempton.

Soviet Song defends her 100% strike-rate.

James Fanshawe’s charge made a winning debut at Kempton and then defeated Summitville by three lengths in the Milcars Sweet Solera Stakes over seven furlongs at Newmarket.

Summitville, trained by James Given, will be seeking revenge on the back of a victory in the Group Three Rothmans Royals May Hill Stakes two weeks ago.

Sir Mark Prescott’s Approach, beaten a length and a half by Summitville at Doncaster, is also in the line-up.

The field is completed by Air Adair, Hold To Ransom and the Ian Balding-trained duo Casual Look and Oblige.
