Weavers Pride was quietly supported before the Rothmans Royals Champagne Stakes at Doncaster despite having finished only third in a maiden on his debut but he showed enough to suggest he will win races.

Like many of the progeny of Barathea, Weavers Pride may be better served by a softer racing surface and in the circumstances he did well to finish in mid-division in this Group Three event.
