Moon misses Moyglare

Aidan O’Brien’s Reach For The Moon will miss the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh tomorrow after the filly coughed this morning.

Stable spokesman Dennis Hickey said: "Reach For The Moon won’t be running at the Curragh tomorrow in the Moyglare Stud Stakes, unfortunately she gave a couple of coughs this morning and is out of the race."

Reach For The Moon was the Ballydoyle trainer’s only runner in a race he has won for the past two years with Sequoyah and Quarter Moon.

O’Brien’s older horses have been affected by the cough since the beginning of this month and on Thursday he reported that his best three-year-olds Hawk Wing, High Chaparral and Rock Of Gibraltar were over the worst.

But during that time his two-year-olds have been relatively unaffected with big-race wins coming from Spartacus and Van Nistelrooy.
