Officials at Ripon will hold another inspection at 3.30pm today with clerk of the course James Hutchinson describing prospects for tomorrow’s meeting as ‘‘50-50’’.

The stewards checked the track at 8.00 this morning after torrential rain last week had left the course waterlogged in places.

‘‘Basically we are 90 per cent all right but there is still one place where water is standing which we are trying to clear so we are going to inspect again at 3.30 this afternoon,’’ Hutchinson said.

‘‘The patch in question is down the back straight just before you come into the bend.

‘‘The forecast is not great and I would say prospects are about 50-50 at this stage.’’
