Deportivo set for Maison-Laffitte
Roger Charlton has supplemented the very useful Deportivo at a cost of €5,700 for the Group Two Prix Robert Papin at Maisons-Laffitte on Sunday.
Deportivo, owned by Khalid Abdullah, is unbeaten in three outings and is coming off a length and a half win in the Listed Rose Bowl Stakes at Newbury.
The juvenile feature will have a maximum of two British runners, with Barry Hills keeping in Never A Doubt at the probables stage today.
Never A Doubt, yet to finish out of the money, chased home the impressive Romantic Liason in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Other foreign acceptors are the smart German colt, Fiepes Shuffle, and Italy’s A Bay Wisp.
The unbeaten group three winner, Ela Merici, heads the domestic acceptors, which include Beyond Infinity, On Line, Energetic Star, Zinziberine and Acago.
